Biniaraix
[BEE-knee-ah-RAH-eesh]
A corner of the island we can't wait to share with you
The Town of Biniaraix
Our lovely little hamlet is mostly known as the starting point for some amazing hiking trails to Puig de Massanella and the Cuber reservoirs through the Barranc de Biniaraix, as well as the halfway point between Sóller and Fornalutx.
Judging by the amount of traffic going through our doorsteps on a daily basis, it feels like walkers, bikers, and even horseback riders have known about it for years.
It sits in the Soller valley, completely surrounded by the magnificent Tramuntana mountains, which is why if you're driving here, you'll have to wind your way through the outskirts of Soller, and when you finally get to the entrance, you might just drive straight past it since it's hard to believe that such narrow gap is the actual entrance to our village! (So if you're coming on your own while we're not here, please ask us for detailed instructions on how to get here).
As a result, a lot of people actually find Biniaraix by accident when they're out for a stroll. If you walk down Lluna St. (Soller's main shopping street) and just keep going, you'll pretty much walk straight to our house. It's quite a direct route really.
It's a real village with beautiful surroundings, and yet it's only about a twenty-minute walk into the centre of either Soller or Fornalutx from our house. It's quite an ideal spot when you think about it.
